Detailed Description
Grade 12 (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni) titanium bar is a commercially pure wrought titanium alloy. It offers excellent elevated temperature strength, weldability, and resistance to crevice corrosion. This material is similar to Grade 2 and Grade 3 titanium alloys but is enhanced with additions of molybdenum and nickel for superior corrosion resistance. Grade 12 titanium alloy can be formed either hot or cold using methods such as bend forming, hydroforming, stretch forming, or drop hammering. Its versatility in formability makes it suitable for a wide range of applications.
The chemical composition of Grade 12 titanium alloy bar is Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni, with titanium accounting for approximately 99% of the content, supplemented by controlled additions of molybdenum and nickel. Molybdenum enhances the alloy's high-temperature strength and thermal stability, while nickel improves its corrosion resistance.
Grade 12 titanium alloy bar exhibits excellent mechanical properties, achieving tensile strengths up to 1200 MPa and yield strengths greater than 1100 MPa. It also maintains superior mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, with tensile strength reaching 900 MPa at 400°C.

Manufacturing Process
Grade 12 (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni) titanium bar can be formed through both hot and cold working processes, offering good weldability and machinability. Heat treatment processes including annealing and stress relief are employed to optimize material properties and ductility. The alloy can be processed through cold working (such as press forming, stretch forming) and hot working (such as forging) to create complex shapes. It is available in various specifications and sizes, including cylindrical and square shapes, with surface treatment options including polishing and pickling.
