Detailed Description
The first practical titanium alloy, Ti-6Al-4V, was successfully developed in the United States in 1954. Renowned for its excellent heat resistance, strength, ductility, toughness, formability, weldability, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility, it has become the benchmark alloy in the titanium industry, accounting for 75–85% of all titanium alloy usage. Many other titanium alloys are considered modifications of Ti-6Al-4V.
