Detailed Description

 

Pure Titanium Plate is classified into high-purity titanium (99.9% purity) and commercially pure titanium (99.5% purity). Commercially pure titanium is graded as TA1, TA2, TA3, and TA4, with higher numbers indicating lower purity.

 

Properties of Pure Titanium:

Density: 4.507 g/cm³

Melting Point: 1688°C

Phase Transformation: α-phase (HCP structure) below 882.5°C; β-phase (BCC structure) above 882.5°C

Low strength but high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent plasticity, low-temperature toughness, and superior corrosion resistance.

Good pressure processing performance but poor machinability. Requires argon protection during heating and welding to prevent nitrogen absorption.

 

Applications of Pure Titanium:
Impurities significantly enhance titanium's strength, making industrial pure titanium comparable to high-strength aluminum alloys. It is widely used in heat exchangers, reactors, marine components, and aircraft skins operating below 350°C.
